Bernard Parkin M.A., Grad. Cert. Ed., M.A. has been a full-time calligrapher since 1994, though he was teaching the craft to beginners at Whitby Evening Institute in 1985-6 and at Dubai Arts Centre in 1987-89, in “another life” as a teacher of, and lecturer in English. 

Inspired by Johnston, he values spontaneity, fluency and life above all. He sells copies of  his work, as manuscripts on parchment paper, in picture-frames he makes himself, and as laminated bookmarks.

Bernard also accepts commissions - people’s own or their favourite poems, homilies etc.
